ABOUT DONNA LAWSON 

Retail is my life!

As a seasoned retail designer and strategist, I’m a keen observer, always seeking insight into what motivates customers; a strategic thinker, conceiving the big picture and articulating the tactics to get it done; an astute designer, developing a vision while solving real problems through thoughtful design; a retail enthusiast, always asking why and unearthing the necessary answers; and a shopping devotee, forever seeking out the new, thought-provoking and inspiring.

All with an end goal of creating practical design for the real world – unique retail experiences that resonate with customers and functional design that works for the retailer.

With twenty plus years of experience, working with clients, big and small, spanning sectors including entertainment, fashion, cosmetics, jewellery, food and beverage, airport and duty free, I bring with me a wealth of knowledge, insight and know-how. I have created environments that work both functionally and aesthetically, for the likes of La Maison Simons dept. stores, Aldo, Mendocino, LCBO, Air Canada, Philips, Blue Water Bridge Duty Free and Allders. Garnering over 30 industry awards, my projects have been featured in numerous publications world-wide. And in my spare time I have even penned a few articles for Canadian Retailer and The Americas Duty Free and Travel Retailing.
